State of the Art Laser

Laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances.

The Laser delivers energy in the form of light. Depending on the intended result, this energy travels at different wavelengths and is absorbed by a “target.” Each one absorbs a different wavelength of light while reflecting others. For soft tissue (surgical) procedures it many times eliminates the need for suturing.

Dental Lasers offer many dramatic advantages over traditional methods. We strive to provide our patients with the most up-to-date technology and lasers are more precise and gentle than conventional instruments. The use of laser therapy will minimize bleeding, swelling, infection, inflammation, and soreness. This results in greater comfort and reduced recovery time for our patients.

This translates to more comfort for the patient.

Advantages

  • Smaller incision sites
  • Lowered Inflammation of the area
  • As it cuts it seals
  • Less risk of scarring
  • Minimal bleeding
  • Minimal Discomfort
  • Less post operative pain

How would my procedure be done without the use of the laser?

Other than with a laser the most common method is with a scalpel for soft tissue procedures and generally produces satisfactory results.

For hard lesions (bone) the use of a dental drill is also used.
